Veggie Grill was literally the first restaurant I went to when I came to California. I immediately fell in love with the place. It’s all vegan (as far as I know), fresh, and delicious!
My husband had actually been to Veggie Grill before and so he had suggestions for what we should order. We split everything no matter where we go so we got the Bombay Bowl with blackened “chicken” and the Tofu Thai Wrap.
The Bombay Bowl had this amazing Indian-y curry flavor to it. The bowl contained steamed kale, roasted veggies, quinoa, cannellini beans, almonds, and on and on and was topped with this coconut base curry on top. This is still one of my husband’s favorite things from here. It’s flavorful, warm, and filling!
The Tofu Thai Wrap that isn’t on the menu, but can still be ordered was a great burst of flavor as well. It tends to be on the sweeter side, but contained fresh greens, shredded carrot, avocado. tofu (of course), and tempeh bacon (the best part) and wrapped up in a spinach (I think?) tortilla. It’s even better with Sriracha!
After that first experience we have been many, many times since then. I have had the opportunity to try the Sonoran Bowl and the Mediterranean Super Greens salad. Both were good, but I have many other things there that I would rather get.
The B.T.L.A. is one of those things. Avocado, tempeh bacon, lettuce, tomato, aioli, all on sourdough. All of the good things!
The crispy “chicken” is another favorite of mine, but I get the blackened “chicken” instead. It has some of the same ingredients as the BTLA, minus the bacon plus the “chicken.” This one is also higher in protein than some of the other menu items!
The cheeseburger is a win any day of the week with it’s Chao cheese slice, tomato, pickles, onion, and chipotle ranch. One of the best non-meat burgers I have ever had!
